Giovanna Mezzogiorno – Actress Sabina is the central character. Each story comes from and derives from hers. She is leading a very quiet life, she is not a careerist, she dubs films, she is therefore an actress who put her career aside. She lives with someone she deeply loves. But a kind of internal revolution happens in her: when she becomes aware that she's pregnant she begins to have very strange dreams, very negative sensations and she understands that those sensations have to do with her family story, her relationships with her father and mother. She thus decides to go and see her brother in America (acted by Luigi Lo Cascio). She's not exactly aware that she has to discover something, she only has the sensation that deep down she needs to clarify her private and familiar life, even her childhood story. Out there she discovers the theme of the film, that they were sexually abused by their father during their childhood. Her life completely changes afterwards.
