Michele Placido – Director I like the idea of actors using movements that aren't just those defined by the camera but that come from the heart, from the mind, from the psyche. Actually, many directors set up the shot when arriving on the set, whereas for me it's the actors who create the shot with their emotions, following the suggestions in the screenplay. To bring the camera's view to life, even when it becomes subjective (for instance, seeing a landscape, a river, a part of the sky, or a city and the flow of traffic), you need action and capability. I guess that in the end I prefer to relinquish some of the technical perfection in favour of truthfulness on the part of the actors.
