What fascinated me was this sort of suspended animation, characters that find themselves having to choose whether or not they should continue living the life they're living or whether their doubts and uncertainties, even their sadness, have true meaning. And all because of a violent event, this accident that occurs in the film.
I think that it's an important subject. It's not just about betrayal; it's deeper than that; it has more to do with human beings and the relationship that a person has with him or herself. I guess we can end up living situations that aren't exactly what we want or what we were meant for, but you adapt. In part because a number of things in our lives begin to settle, so that we feel comfortable and safe, yet these can become obstacles, and it's the attempt to overcome these obstacles that the film deals with, the idea of leaving behind many of the things that are important to our lives and instead trying to enjoy the present as much as possible.
