I think this film will be very interesting for the international audience, because it’s in a way quite Dutch, plus it’s all shot in Amsterdam and you can feel it’s Amsterdam. Everybody who tried to make an international film in Holland wasn’t successful. So you go back to your roots and make the film from a real Dutch perspective. It’s a small film. You don’t have to make a big film or a big budget film to make a good film of course.
I think for Robert Jan this size is very good. Robert Jan decides what he wants to do very much on the set, and not before he starts shooting. To explain to everyone what he is going to do is much easier with 25 people than with 50.
I think Sally Harms will be the new star in Dutch film. She is not known yet. This is her first lead in a feature film. She is very natural. She’s not very experienced but I think the camera loves her.
