The film is based on the real story of the murder of minister Debski. There are the characters of the prostitute, the politicians, the people from the underworld. We discussed with Christopher Doyle how to make each character look credible, realistic.
Working on the character of Oika we decided to show how she used to be a student who now earns money as a prostitute. But she tries to hide it. In her bag she carries a wig to dress up. She also always carries a jumper to put over her dress, to mingle with the crowd if needed.
The colours of the film depend on where we are: outside or inside. But they are always desaturated. We use grey, brown, beige, and a little bit of green. I wanted all the costumes to fit into the mood of this film called “Warsaw Dark”.
