Lia Boysen – Actress
I’m Lia Boysen and I play Annika who owns a house in Orust, where she has invited her French friend, Jeanne. The place is her childhood home, which she’s planned to sell. But before selling she’s trying to get some money together by renting it to her cousin’s colleague, Albert, who’s played by Jean-Pierre Darroussin in this film.
I speak French in this film and I could say that this is the biggest challenge I’ve ever had. I had five weeks to learn the lines and speak French as much as possible. I might have had a little help in pronunciation based on the fact that I spoke French fluently in my childhood at nursery school. But I’d forgotten everything, and nobody believes when I claim that I really did speak French earlier.
During the first weekend, when we were shooting, Anna told me that she was amused by the fact that she’d purposely chosen me to play a restrained and strict person whereas the Judith’s character is quite extrovert – the contrary to our usual roles.
